An international business entering the UK can arrive with real revenue and a real track record, yet with almost no UK-specific evidence for AI engines to corroborate. When UK customers ask ChatGPT, Google or Perplexity who to use, the engines recommend whoever their UK evidence supports, and a newcomer has usually given them very little to work with. This page is for the firms in that position: what is actually wrong, what we measure, and what changes it.
Why your home-market authority does not transfer
AI engines answer UK questions by retrieving and corroborating UK-relevant evidence: English-language pages, UK press and directories, consistent company records, reviews UK customers can verify. A decade of reputation in your home market, in your home language, sits outside that evidence pool. Worse, entrants often carry specific machine-visibility defects: names that collide with unrelated entities, websites whose English pages are thin translations, and technical estates the crawlers cannot read at all. In an internal Aeova scan of 30 international firms with UK-entry activity, reviewed in July 2026, 6 had material crawler-readability issues: firewalls challenging crawler traffic, expired certificates, or pages that render empty without JavaScript.
What we measure, in both languages
The starting point is the same measurement we run for every client, extended for entrants: real UK customer questions, asked repeatedly across engines, scored recommended, mentioned or absent, and run in English and in your home language, because the two answer sets routinely disagree. The measurement also checks what the engines believe you are: name collisions and misattributed identities are common enough among entrants that we treat entity verification as a standard step. The result is a baseline you can hold us to: 19% of same-question, same-engine repeated runs change whether a business gets recommended, so honest proof of progress needs repeated measurement against controls.
What changes it
The work is evidence-building in the right pool: machine-readable UK pages that open with answers, entity records that agree with each other everywhere the engines check, English corroboration of the home-market track record, and where the engagement includes it, the website, content and paid channels handled as one job. The four steps do not change for entrants: measure, diagnose, fix, re-measure. The buyer's guide questions apply to us too, and we would rather you asked them.
Where to start: the free ten-question audit, run on the UK questions you should win. If your market entry is further out, the audit still tells you what the machines currently believe about you, which is worth knowing before you commit to a launch. Pricing is public.
Common questions
Why don't AI engines recommend us in the UK when we're well known at home?
Because the engines answer UK questions from UK-relevant evidence: English-language pages, UK citations, consistent UK entity records. Authority in your home market, in your home language, mostly does not transfer by itself. The engines are not being unfair; they simply cannot corroborate you yet, and corroboration is what gets a business named.
Does AEO work in languages other than English?
It can be measured and worked on in any language the engines answer in, and for market entrants we normally measure both English and the home-market language, because the two answer sets disagree in instructive ways: a brand can be strong in one and absent or misdescribed in the other. The fixes are then specific: bilingual entity records, English evidence that corroborates the home-market track record, and pages the engines can actually read.
What does UK market entry AEO cost?
The measured pilot is from £500 like all our work, and the ongoing engagement is scoped to what you need handled: visibility-only from £700 per month, or a fuller arrangement covering the website, content and paid channels, priced per scope. Pricing principles are public on the pricing page; market-entry engagements are quoted after the audit because scope varies.
